We’re excited to share that our practice is now offering NuLIDS® treatments, a new in-office service designed to support your everyday eye comfort and overall ocular health.

NuLIDS PRO is a gentle, in-office treatment that works to:

What is NuLIDS?

NuLIDS is a safe and effective, FDA registered eyelid hygiene device. NuLIDS was designed by an Ophthalmologist and is proven effective for relief of dry, red, sore, itchy, and swollen eyes. A NuLIDS treatment only takes one minute. The NuLIDS device is compact and cordless so that you can take it just about anywhere.

How does NuLIDS work?

The NuLIDS device oscillates back and forth to provide a gentle massage for the eyelids. This action helps cleanse the eyelids, remove debris, and support the health of the meibomian glands. These glands are responsible for producing the lipid layer of the eye’s tear film. In studies, lipid deficiency is seen as the leading cause of Dry Eye Disease (in 86% of all cases!). It has been shown that proper care and maintenance of the eyelids results in an improvement of the discomforts caused by Dry Eye Disease, Blepharitis, Demodex, and Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. When not taken care of, these conditions are often chronic and worsen over time. NuLIDS is proven to be safe and effective for removal of biofilm and scurf that block the meibomian glands. Also, the gentle massaging action of NuLIDS contributes to overall better eyelid health and may also stimulate blood flow around the eyelids.
